Obituary for Clifford Lee Scearce

Clifford Lee Scearce of Biloxi, gained his Heavenly wings on August 17, 2017, after a brief, but valiant bout with cancer. He was born in Houston, TX on July 23, 1942, to J. B. and Lucille Scearce.

After retiring from the City of Wharton, Texas, he and his wife, Catherine Shappee Scearce, moved to Biloxi to be near their son Richard, and their grandchildren. After working with Hancock Bank for 14 years, Clifford retired again to enjoy spending time with his family and an occasional visit to the casino's of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. As an avid animal lover, there was always room for their cats.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard John Scearce. Mr. Scearce is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Shappee Scearce; his family in Houston, Texas; his aunt, Lois Larke; his brother, Jeff Scearce and his wife Phyliss; his sister, Kathy Lynn Scearce of Memphis, TN; his grandchildren, Tiffany Lynn and her husband Calen and Brianna Kate Scearce and his great grandchildren, Gunner and Paesleigh Lynn.

We celebrate his life with us here on earth, ‘til we meet again!

The family would like to thank everyone for their many thoughts, visits, and prayers. A special thank you to the staff at SAAD Healthcare for their excellent and kind attention, and especially Glenda, Gloria, Betty, Michael, Brittany, Stephanie, John and those not mentioned by name. Also, a special thank you to the friends and staff at Kindred Hospice for their support to Catherine before and during Clifford's brief illness.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Humane Society, in memory of Mr. Scearce.
