Obituary for Anthony Wayne Curran Sr.

Mr. Anthony Wayne Curran, Sr., 73, of Saucier, died Thursday, September 28, 2017.

Mr. Curran was born on August 6, 1944 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama to the late Raymond and Judy Valk. He retired in 2009 from Ingalls as a pipe fitter. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, enjoyed crappie fishing, going to the casinos with his wife, and spending time with family and friends at the camp in Vicksburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Judy Valk and his mother and father in law Hurley and Beatrice Gable.

Survivors include his wife of 52 glorious years, Mary Beth Curran; children, Anthony Wayne Curran, Jr, Regina (Earl) Neeley, and Shantrell (Jeremy) Simpson; brother, Walter Swan; brother in law, Billy (Debra) Gable; sister in law Donna Maples; sister in law Judy (Norbert) Myers; grandchildren, Raymond, Amanda, Katlyn (Frank), Joseph, Hunter, Shelby, Anthony Curran, III, and Ashley; special nephew Robbie Maples, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services, 6631 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thang Pham at 11:00 am, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 10601 Daisy Vestry Road, Vancleave, Mississippi.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Saads Hospice and their team of professionals and their friend Dr. Richard Smith and his wonderful staff for the love and compassion they showed the family.
