Helen (Stroud) Jones, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the age of 88, surrounded by her children. She was born on June 2, 1929, in Jackson, Missouri to the late Alma (Jobe) Schulte and John H. Schulte.

She was preceded in death her husband, Everett L. Stroud and Spence E. Jones, and her siblings, Marybelle Schulte Grossheider, John H. Schulte, Jr., Patricia Schulte Frederick, and Leo Schulte all of Jackson, Missouri.

Helen is survived by her two children, Melissa (Stroud) D’Angelo and Michael Stroud and numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.

Helen and Everett moved to Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois and then to Coca Beach, Florida before finally settling in Gulfport, Mississippi. Helen was a homemaker until she started working at Gulfport East High School in 1971, where she worked for 5 years.

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 11:00am at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road in Gulfport. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
