Mary Evelyn Cox, 75, of Gulfport Ms, died at 8:44 P.M, on Monday October 16th at Gulfport Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.
She was born September 9th, 1942 in Collins, Ms to W.F and Minnie Lee King.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Speed of Gulfport, Ms. Beth Sink and son in law Jimmy Sink of Mobile, Al, and one son Will Speed of Mobile, Al. Two grandchildren, Shelby Sink (Jesse) of Mobile, Al. Devan Sink (Lauren) of Mcdonough,Ga and one great granddaughter, of whom she was so proud, Amelia Sink. Kai, her beloved pet and best friend along with many other friends and family.
She is preceded in death by both her parents and her only sibling,Charlotte M. Warren.
Ms. Mary spent over 30 years working in childcare. She never forgot a baby that she held in her arms. She remembered their names long after they had grown up and she loved them all.
She loved life. She loved her family (including Kai, her loyal canine companion until the end.) She loved football, reading, and collecting lighthouses.
She requested that there be no memorial service and her remains cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
