Baessler- Mary Jean " Mama Jean", Gulfport. Went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. She was born in Tampa, FL on June 18, 1954 at McDill Air Force Base.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Herbert Douglas and Edna Claire (Cook) Baessler, brother Herbert Douglas Baessler Jr.
She is survived by her son Sean Baessler of Gulfport, MS, daughter Nicole (Baessler) and Jeremy Grimes, grandsons Kevin, Romin, Jason, Jericho, and granddaughter Bella of Gurley,AL, sisters Linda (Baessler) and A.B. "Pete" Hill Jr. of Fleming Island, FL, Bridget A. ( Baessler) and Wayne Thompson of St. Petersburg, FL, Edna E Baessler of Bulls Gap, TN, Cynthia J. Baessler of Detroit, MI, brother Henry D. Baessler of Middleburg, FL, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She retired from the civil service where she worked at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, MS.
Her hobbies included wood working, camping, photography, and softball. She was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, Mississippi 39501 or www.hssm.org
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4-6 pm at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services in Ocean Springs.
