Mr. Jerry Dale Smith, age 72 of Biloxi, passed away on November 7, 2017, in Gulfport.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #2434 in Biloxi.

Jerry possessed a kind and gentle spirit and was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Smith of Booneville and Joyce Smith of Biloxi.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith of Biloxi; two sisters, Jan and Bill Collins of Pensacola, FL and Jolynne Kelley of Biloxi, four children, daughter Debra and Mark Smith of Laurel, daughter Kimberly Smith, of Laurel, son Mark (Sparky) and Cassandra Smith, of Laurel, and daughter Jennifer and Will Moore of Seneca, SC; three stepsons, Adam Penton, Jesse Penton, and Jerry Penton, all of Biloxi, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Life Church, 13212 Ruth Street in Ocean Springs, with Rev. Andrew Kelly and Rev. Raymond Kelly, II officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
