Obituary for Travis Leon Register

Travis Leon Register, of Pass Christian died on November 6, 2017 in Gulfport. He was surrounded by his loving family. Travis was born to Lucy and Pete Register, in Ludowici, Georgia.
Travis was preceded in death by his Parents Lucy and Pete Register, and sister Mildred Cleveland. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years and his children. Daugther's Mona (Ben Franklin) of Buffalo, South Carolina Erika (Johnny Johnson) of Gulfport ,Mississippi Theresa Orr of Pass Christian, Mississippi Elizabeth (Gene Johnson) of Waco, Texas Chandra (Paul Rountree) of Cedartown,Georgia. Sons Timmy (Mindy Register) of Ludowici, Georgia Steve (Heather Register) of Summerville, South Carolina. 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren and sister Betty Register.
Travis lived a good portion of his life in the great state of Texas. He worked for Gifford Hill Concrete, in Houston. He and his wife owned a few small businesses, in East Texas. They returned back to the Gulf Coast in 1999. This is where they first meet back in 1976. Travis was driving a school bus loaded with general merchandise, coming from Mexico, when he broke down. He ended up at Dave's garage and meet the love of his life. Travis loved Nas car racing, music, and telling stories. He had the gift of gab. He was an outlaw at heart and ran off most of his in laws. Travis loved cooking and putting his spin on mainly Southern cuisine. He was greatly inspired by Justin Wilson and his grandma's cooking. He was famous for his Green Sauce,Fat Boy Burgers, and his five layer Chocolate Cake. He thought burping and farting were gross and would let you know it!!! He loved to shower his wife with five and dime gifts. He taught his children to dumpster dive and they all cherished the experience. Travis was a fan of Hulk Hogan and Mork from Ork. He loved to do impersonations and using his sarcastic humor. Travis favorite country Super Hero was Waylon Jennings and his Life Theme Song was Waylon- The Wurlitzer Prize. Travis was a hard worker and loved his family. The family will have a private service on Friday November 10th 2017 with a celebration of life at the family home.
