Condolence From: Corey Henning
Condolence: Joey was one of my teachers at MGCCC. One of my most favorite teachers. Just now hearing from some of my classmates about his death. He was a good man. He'd do just about anything to help you out and see you succeed. I'm very sad about this and apologize about getting this so late.

Condolence From: Louis and Tina Skrmetta
Condolence: Joey and I go back to Notre Dame High School Class of 74. We had many classes together, played football together, and shared a common heritage; our Grandfathers both came to America at the turn of the century from the Island of Brac Croatia. They were both born and raised in the same little village of Bobovisce, not far from the Adriatic Sea. Joey was a kind and gentle soul. We had many discussions about our Damatican connection. Biloxi names like Skrmeta,Pitalo, Sekul, Halat,Cerinic, Hire, and Trebotica all originating from the same beautiful part of Europe. I will miss the man. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Zbogom starog prijatelja

Condolence: I only met Joey recently at MGCCC, but my dad knew him well and worked with him for a long time. The last time I talked to him was a couple weeks ago after having to work on some computers in one of the labs on campus. He was singing my praises in front of his entire class about taking care of all the PC's on campus and particularly the lab he taught in. The few times I had the pleasure of speaking with him gave me the impression that he was an outstanding guy! I know he will be missed!
