Laura Jane Emery went home peacefully to be with her Lord in heaven on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Reece; her brother, Charles Williams; and her niece, Jamie Sterling.

Janie had a real passion for life and enjoyed Mardi Gras, dancing, traveling, and reading.

Her greatest accomplishments are her children.

She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Sterling; her son, David (Trudi) Johnson; and her daughter, Reachel (C. N.) Williams. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan (Katie) Bennett, Garrett Johnson, Grant Johnson, Bayley Bennett, and Carley Williams. She also leaves behind special friends Barbara Geraci (Jake) and Cathy Cade.

There will be a private graveside service on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11 am in D'Iberville Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, Janie requests donations be made to Casa or American Cancer Society.
