Obituary for Manjula Mehta (Jasmani)

On October 22nd, 2018, the Mehta family lost their Matriarch, Manjula Natvarlal Mehta, endearingly referred to as “Maji”. Much like her 93 years, her final days were spent surrounded by family and loved ones.

She was born on April 9th, 1925 in Kalasar, India as the youngest of five brothers and three sisters. Maji survived her husband of 39 years, Natvarlal Chunilal Mehta. She is survived by her 3 sons – Janak, Pramod and Prakash – and 3 daughters – Jyotsna, Jayshree and Hina – as well as 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many more family members.

She was an adventurer, a spiritualist, a healer, and a pragmatist. She easily adapted to her surroundings and exuded strength in the face of diverse challenges. From the small town she was born in, to the city she moved to when she married, to the country she eventually called home, Maji was ever-evolving and always curious to learn more and experience life to her fullest potential. Her tenacious personality and sense of humor will be missed at every family gathering to come. With a ready smile and an open heart, Maji has left an unforgettable impression on everyone she met. Even in her last breath, she touched family around the globe before passing on to her new beginning. Her family and friends will carry her memories until we meet again. Jai Shri Krishna.
