Sandra "Sandy" Douglas Richards, escaped the earthy bounds of her recent illness and now resides in Heaven with her brothers, her mother-in-law and brother-in-law, her nephew and many other members of her family and friends who are rejoicing in her presence today!
She was born in Chicago, IL on March 18, 1963, graduated from Harrison Central High School in 1981, was a graduate of the Mississippi Real Estate Institute and married her husband and best friend, Leroy Richards on April 25, 1992.
She loved life, her family, her husband and their children and adored her grandchildren and lived life to the fullest. She battled her illness bravely, until the very end, to stay with those she loved, and who loved her as long as possible.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Richards; her mother, Zelma; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Ashley Fairly and their children Fletcher and Sawyer; her son and his wife Shane and Amanda and their daughter Michaela, her daughter and her husband Christle and Mike and their daughters, Savannah and Shyanne; her son and his wife Clayton and Rebecca and their son Jude; her son and his wife, Travis and Destiny; her big sister and her husband, Diana and Donald; her brother, Mike and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and too many friends to list in this notice!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 17430 Landon Road in Gulfport, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. The family encourages anyone who knew Sandy, and wants to pay their respects, to attend the services.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to New Hope Baptist Church in Sandy’s name.
